Bizarre Funeral of £4,000,000 Lottery Winner Sees Her Buried with Vouchers, Stickers and Red Bull

Melissa Ede, a former lottery winner recently passed away and her heartbroken fiancée carried out her dying wish; to bury her with a collection of bizarre items. The £4,000,000 scratchcard winner was given “one hell of a send-off” with mourners dressed in vibrant clothes – even the celebrant was dressed in a multi-coloured suit and matching tie. Melissa died earlier this month in Hull at the age of 58, just days after being given the all-clear from a heart-scare. Speaking to a packed colourful church full of mourners, her fiancé Rachel Nason stated the lottery winner was the “star of her own reality show.”

Speaking to a media outlet, Rachel told them how she found Mel slumped in the sat of her car; “I honestly thought she was mucking about. I was expecting her to open her eyes and say ‘boo’. Mel finally had the chance to do anything she wanted and it got ripped away from her. We were going to have a wild circus wedding. We were going to wear inflatable suits and have clowns, trapeze artists. She wanted to take us all on holiday as none of us had ever gone abroad.”

Bright and Beautiful

The funeral saw Melissa buried with newspapers detailing her whirlwind lifestyle, plus a collection of unusual items. Along with the papers, a phone, a charger, her Pokemon: Go collection, tab ends, a lighter, a torch, Farm Food vouchers, McDonald’s loyalty stickers, candles that read “c**t”, a crucifix, coins, cans of Red Bull, Quality Street chocolates and a pink Adidas jacket made the hit list.

The coffin arrived at the church service via rainbow-coloured carriage with white horses and inside the venue were replicas of her £4m winning scratchcard. Alastair Devine, the celebrant told the mourners that Melissa was a “terrible millionairess” who still loved to grab a bargain despite being considerably wealthy. He continued: “She was like no other person you could ever meet. You could travel the whole world and you wouldn’t find another Mel.

Many people remember Melissa for her zany YouTube Videos where she hung objects from her chest; “Yes, you may know her for getting her boobs out…”

Rachel said of her fiancé; “I think she wanted everyone to know who she was and to make an impact on the world somehow but didn’t know quite how.”

Before winning the huge sum of £4m, Melissa was previously known as Les who worked as an engineer and welder before hopping in a cab and becoming a taxi driver for 15-years. Shortly after this, Les had gender reassignment surgery in 2011 to become Melissa. Alistair said; “All Mel wanted was to be accepted for the woman she always knew that she was throughout her life. The world is certainly going to be a duller place without Mel around.”

Despite reported rifts in the family, a few of Mel’s four children attended the funeral.
