All the Two’s Sees Record Number of Players win South Carolina Lottery

The Pick 4 Lottery game in South Carolina is extremely popular with the players and this is because you’ve more chance of scooping a nice prize with fewer balls, but the lottery organisation was surprised to learn that in the recent drawing (Saturday), almost 1400 people won and each of those players had chosen the exact same numbers; 2-2-2-2.

The record number of wins will see players picking up anything between $2000 and $5000 each and this is a lot of money despite there being so many winners. Holli Armstrong, a lottery spokeswoman told the CNN that the winners were lining up outside the building on Monday to collect their winnings and this was before the pay-out office in Columbia had even opened.

Bottles of water were handed out to the many winners by the lottery due to the soaring temperature in the Southern heat. The amount of cash a single person could win would depend on the number of tickets they had and the amount they spent on those tickets. One lucky winner cashed out $80,000 on choosing 2-2-2-2 and this was from 16 lottery tickets.

It’s estimated that the almost 1400 winners have cost the lottery more than $3.4 million and almost half of this was paid out before midday on Monday. Tuesday also saw a line of winners appear outside the pay-out office, but it was smaller than the day before.

This latest spate of winners blows the previous record of winners on the quadruple 2’s (2-2-2-2) out of the water! On 8th July 2012, 652 winners received cash – fast-forward 7 years and the number of winners soared to approximately 1400!
